JJ Green Market Closing Down

Vendors from JJ Green Night Market will be closing their stalls when the market’s contract is terminated on 12th October.

It has been reported from Khaosod English, the Bangkok Government asked vendors to close their doors on 11th October after the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration are ending their contract with V Multimedia Company Ltd over failure to pay rent. The contract expiry was 31st August but vendors had been given a two-week eviction notice and then an additional month notice.

With Suan Chatuchak park currently under construction, the JJ Green Market 21-rai space will be incorporated into the new park that will combine Wachirabenchathat, Queen Sirikit Park and Chatuchak Park into Bangkok’s largest park. For more on this new park click here.

JJ Green opened in 2012 and became one of Bangkok’s liveliest night markets with live music, retro clothing stalls and chilled out vibes. The market is situated next to the World’s largest weekend market, Chatuchak Market.
