Popular shopping destinations in Bangkok

JJ Green Market

Bangkok has lots of opportunities to shop, other than Chatuchak Market. Whether you are looking for a souvenir, bargain hunting or enjoy the finer things in life, Bangkok offers it all.

Shopping Malls

Located on the Pathumwan Intersection, MBK is probably one of the most legendary shopping malls Bangkok has to offer. It is open daily between 10 am and 10 pm and attracts both tourists and locals. MBK is set across 8 floors and boasts approximately 2,000 shops offering products ranging from clothing and furniture to mobile phones, cameras, computers and virtually any other electronic item you can think of. It is cheap and certainly one to go to if you’re a bargain hunter!

Looking for something a bit more glamorous? At Siam Paragon you can find an array of high-end fashion retailers, accompanied by a Cineplex movie theatre and the largest aquarium in Asia. If you fancy a bite to eat, that’s no problem here, as Siam Paragon has a wide selection of cuisines from around the world. Designer brands located within the mall include; Chanel, Burberry, Jimmy Choo, Rolex and Bvlgari to name a few.

Finally, we couldn’t possibly leave out Central World. This is one of the most luxurious shopping complexes in Asia and is home to anything and everything your heart desires. There are clothing boutiques that cater for any fashion sense you could think of, along with gadget shops, bookshops, banks, eateries and salons, the list could go on and on. The best way to explore what Central World has to offer is to go ahead and check it out for yourself.

Night time shopping

Bangkok never sleeps so if you are more of a night owl or would just prefer to explore when the heat has dropped, why not visit one of Bangkok’s night markets?

It is a very good way to experience the authentic local life in the capital. There are various markets spread out across the city that not only offer a wide variety of products, but also the opportunity to try the Thai cuisine and enjoy some entertainment. One of the biggest night markets is Rod Fai Market located in the east of the city, otherwise, JJ Green Market is another lively venue which is located just around the corner from Chatuchak’s Weekend Market. JJ Green is also known as Siam Gypsy Market and is definitely worth checking out!
