Pratunam Market Guide

Pratunam Market

If you’re looking for an alternative to Chatuchak Market through the week, why not head to Pratunam Market in the heart of Bangkok.

What is Pratunam Market?

Pratunam Market is a cheap indoor fashion marketplace aimed at low-income buyers from around the city. Much like Chatuchak, you are able to buy in wholesale at Pratunam but even buying products individually are still reasonably cheap. The clothing within the market is reflective of the price you pay. If you spend only 100 Baht on a T-Shirt expect the quality to be basic.

The market sells a huge range of clothing for men and women. From T-Shirts to handbags, Pratunam will give you the option to explore Bangkok’s best bargains. If you are looking for technology such as a camera or TV, Pantip Plaza is located next to the market. With over, six floors to browse through, you could find an unexpected deal in there!

Please Note: Bartering is allowed in Pratunam Market. In addition, you will be unable to try clothing on and you can’t refund or exchange once you’ve purchased items.

Where is Pratunam Market?

Pratunam Market is located opposite the Amari Watergate Hotel and walking distance to the tallest building in Bangkok, Baiyoke Tower.

For public transport, Pratunam is a short walk to Phetchaburi BTS station. The market is in the centre of Bangkok so chances are that your hotel is nearby but if not, you can take a taxi which on a metre should be no more than 150 Baht.

When is it open?

Technically, Pratunam Market is open 24 hours but for tourists, we recommend heading to the market from 11am to 9pm to experience the market at its best.
